Established in 2016 by Konservasaun Flora no Fauna (KFF), the Mangrove Study Centre (Sentru Estudu Ai-parapa) is a volunteer-run hub for mangrove and seagrass conservation in Timor-Leste. With over 10,000 visitors to date, including 4,000 youth, the centre reinvests visitor fees to maximize its conservation impact. It serves as a learning platform for students, communities, and tourists, offering education on the critical role of mangroves and seagrass, hosting restoration events, and cultivating seedlings in its nursery.
Beyond ecosystems, KFF is dedicated to wildlife protection, including endangered species research and animal rescue.
